Acer releases another Ferrari Laptop
They've officially announced it, and here is a link where you can find photos of the new Ferrari Laptop.
Anecdotally, all of the people I've known with the previous two generations were quite disappointed with the previous models. Apparently, the same admiration/gawks which would exist amongst auto-philes doesn't exist amongst the technocrates when you carry Ferrari notebook versus driving a Ferrari :)

Quicktime Player != iTunes
Ok, I just bought a new machine and I wanted to install Quicktime (... movie trailers). I hit Apple's site and find that now to get Quicktime, I have to install iTunes.
What gives? I had to hunt around and finally find the standalone link. Imagine how angry consumers would be if another large software company bundled their software like that....
Quality, Features, Schedule
You can't have all three.
Looks like we're going to have to cut one of my favorite features. More after PDC... maybe if enough people complain, we can add it back.

"Brevity is the soul of wit"...Podcasting --> JAMCasting
The Shakespeare quote seems apropo. Essentially, that intelligent speech and writing should aim at using few words.
Ironically Mark Allerton blogs about one of my biggest pet peeves with podcasting these days... the inability for anyone to 'talk on a subject for sixty seconds without hesitation, repetition or deviation.'
Thus, the introduction of JAMCasting. "Podcasting which is limited to one minute broadcasts, on Just A Minute rules"... fantastic.
Actually, podcasting aside, I wish people in general could do that in day to day communications (ignoring the 60 second limit).
Thanks Mark!

Inglewood Jack! Inglewood Jack!
Do you like Ice Hockey & Pulp Fiction? Then you'll love this clip [PG-13 rating due to language]
Konfabulator
I'm somewhat obsessed with Konfabulator and I'm looking forward to v2.0. I really like their widgets model... that's a great example of a community of developers gathering around a cool technology and building on a framework that the authors created.
Changes
I haven't blogged in a while.. I was curious to see if anyone would finally mention that I'd been offline for a bit.
Our team (I can't wait until PDC to finally tell you what we're up to) worked/slaved over the last 10-15 days to majority overhaul our programming model based on a variety of factors including (gasp) customers. Only a select few will never know how bad this could have been if we'd released "the old way". I'm very pleased with what we've changed. Now it'll just be a matter of getting feedback from developers and see how close we are. Not having an in depth knowledge of what developers will like/dislike and being able to change a significant part of the model are just examples of the pros/cons of working on a V1.0 technology.
