TechEd Israel + Presentations + Identity
Sorry for the lack of posts recently. Last week several PM's spent a week in Microsoft Building 20 to participate in a Windows Workflow (WF) developer deep dive event. Essentially, various companies send their developers to Microsoft for a week to write code with the product teams. I love these events, its great to see how people are using WF, where some of the rough spots are and having an excuse to write code for a week :)
My biggest takeway was that the designer rehosting sample we currently provide as part of our hands on labs needs to be re-worked some. Watch this space in the next few weeks for an updated sample.
I've also nearly confirmed that I'll be flying to Eilat to present WF to the folks there during TechEd Israel (May 9-11th). I've done at least a hundred presentations of various aspects of WF to various audiences. If you ever go to a Microsoft conference of any sort, the event co-ordinators want you to fill out a "session feedback form". This is used to rank the sessions and presenters within their tracks and across the event. I usually do quite well in these rankings as I enjoy talking about the code only slightly more than writing it.
Anyway, Lawerence Lessig is a presentation god and I had contemplated doing a presentation in his style. Scouring the internet, I found a great presentation by Dick Hardt of Skip Identity on Identity 2.0 in the Lessig style. I enjoyed it for numerous reasons... the topic (Identity Management) the style (Lessig), the fact he's Canadian from Vancouver (I'm also from Vancouver), and I know that Dick is also an avid Porsche fanatic (he drives and occasionally crashes his CarreraGT... another long story)
